Tom Palmer is a best-selling football writer and I am excited to announce that his exciting new story is going to be written daily during the World Cup 2010! The story will feature football detective Danny Harte and a new chapter will be posted on the following website Monday to Friday each week of the competition! Tom has promised that the story will feature the latest events from the World Cup and with only 800 words a day, there will still be plenty of time to catch all of the matches!! I hope that you all got your letters about the change to the schedule. The butterflies are going to do the first two weeks back after the holidays, then the ladybirds will start again. hopefully this will make it fair because the butterflies missed out on two weeks with Castleton and Parents’ evening.
This Saturday (27.3.2010) at 8.30pm, people all around the world will be switching off their lights to show that they support action on climate change. Last year at Hursthead we involved ourselves in Earth Hour by celebrating a Green Day and we all wore something green to show that we were going to switch off our lights for the Earth Hour.
This year we are going to wear something bright to school on Friday, to show that we are going to turn off a light on Saturday at 8.30pm.
On FRIDAY, come to school wearing ONE ITEM of bright clothing to show that you are going to support Earth Hour this year.
So the competition is on! Eggs with legs- eggs from around the world. What egg-shell-ent ideas have you had? Remember to bring in your entry between Monday and Thursday with an entry form (see below)
